¡Que bueno fue la asamblea! Wow I just love how blunt the information is getting. That is what I need! Its so nice when you don't have to rake your brain for ways to apply the information because they are so blunt they just come right out and say it. I appreciate it so much! So I am officialmente sleep deprived. It is time for me to learn to catch up on my sleep. I bought some awesome slippers the other day. I really appreciate a good pair of slippers. So different than the old days. When it's nice and cold outside and you come in from the frigid weather and you slip your frozen feet into a pair of nice fuzzy slippers. Ahh what could be better. Then you cozy up and read a book. Lol. What has become of me!!!,!,l,!,!,

Well just a quick post and now I am gonna go read some more Tina Fey book and then hit the hay.

Well what is new in the life of Avril? Not too much.

Things I like:

how just moving one little piece of furniture from one room to another can completely make over the entire house, that truly brightens up my life. My little crummy bench with pillows doesn't even match my living room but it's brings a smile to my face.

My delicious glass of wine I have every monday when I come home from work and watch.... The bachelor, yes I admit, it's one of the best parts of my week.

I now have a study that actually texts me... And will tell me when she needs to cancel. That really makes me happy.

Things I don't like:

that I'm horribly addicted to the bachelor and don't care.

That I always feel like I have no clothes, yet there's always soo much laundry to do.

Stupid box elder bugs and how they have survived through the winter and get in our house. Annnngry.

Tomorrow I think I am gonna do pilates. I need to get back in the habit of stretching type work outs. Too many squats recently, more stretching. Is it sad that I go to bed thinking about what I'm going to order from star bucks tomorrow out in service.... :)

I watched the Grammys on Sunday, just me and Samson. And apparently there was a lot of upset about arcade fire winning album of the year. Lol well I mean come on clearly it should have gone to lady gaga or the bieber. Haha just kidding. So funny how people get. Travis naturally was sad he missed the usher performance. " just can't get enough, just can't get enough, when I'm with you...." well that enough.

My cat is so cute. How could any animal be loved more than I love Samson, I dont know. He sure is special. The nice thing about winter is that he isn't bring mice, moles, chipmunks and every other cute living creature to our door dead.

We are having a lovely thaw in the weather right now. It was almost 50 degrees today which is a lovely change from the negative 30 it reached last week. I was practically out in a bathing suit. My blood sure is thickening.

Well I'm going to try to read some of this new watchtower and do my bible reading and then hit the hay.

Well what an interesting day. I knew something was up when Travis let me sleep till 8:00 without so much as a hey avril gonna be late get up. Turns out theres more snow than we thought. Slippery black ice filled road. An estimated like 3 feet of snow. I'm sad I'm confined to only doing letter writing but excited to see this giant dumping of snow. It's already a winter wonderland after last nights snow. This past weekend in the middle of continually sick as I have been for a month!! Travis decided it was time iwentoutside and got some fresh air, which I did not think was a good idea. I was very content sitting there doing my puzzle by myself. Yet he insisted I had tried the moping around way of healing and clearly it hadn't worked. So he borrowed his parents snow shoes and we strapped up. I felt really dump at first but it is kinda cool. They are very light so you don't feel like youhaveto put forth a lot more effort to lift your feet. You do sink into the snow but not all the way it catches you sort of and you are a little on top of the snow. Well I felt fine at first I can handle this very flat terain, however trekking up the hill....while still feeling that my bronchial function was severely compromised I thought I was gonna DIE!!!! Well I don't know if I spoke one word the whole way up there, I was focused of pushing air in and out of my lungs. Got to the top fell on bench, couldnt move. An experience to say the least. It did feel good to feel the little bit of the sun on my face that was left at 4:00. Got home..... Woo downhill I love you.....and made myself a big cup of tea.....started to watch movie called nine months, stopped because it's stupid.... Couldn't remember why i thought it was funny.....and watched an incredibly boring pro bowl, wow AFC you got nothing! hopefully that's a fore gleam into this superbowl. I think this has single handedly boosted the wisconsin economy, just in sales of hats and sports mags alone. Well I'll be cheering hard for the packers. Maybe after this I'll actually have to get a better packers shirt,

Well I guess work might be cancelled tomorrow, we never close so that means that this blizzard means business.

Well I should get back to my letter writing. Maybe later I'll attempt to drive the 5 minutes to a coffee shop and get a good cup of coffee. Bueno hasta luego mis amigas y mi familia, o qualquiera persona que lo lea. Me imagino no no hay nadie, pero quien sabe.

Family visit

I had such a nice time in Florida with my family. It's amazing that it had been a year yet it still feel so completely normal to be bumming around with them. Working out competively with the little sis Ali, having her be grouchy if you interrupt her sleep. Ah I love it. However a new little edition was that sophie now wolves to play super Mario smash brother and is actually pretty good at it.

My 50 somethiong mother speak in Hindi. :) well I am really exhausted right now. And we are having trav's parents kver for their anniversary so I am gonna take a little nap before I have to start cooking. Creo que vow a cocinar alguna tip a de comida mexicana

Laaaazy day... We Meet Again

So time I believe is currently 1:00 P.M. I'm sitting in my living room. Doing nothing. It has been soooooo long since I did nothing. I stayed up really late last night... It had been forever since I did that as well. Lauren and I stayed up till 4 am watching videos on youtube of talented cats. Very fulfilling, yet as always when I do things such as that on rare occasions I completely regret it the next morning. I decided yesterday at volleyball that I wasn't going out in service today. It had been so long since I just woke up and kinda poked around the house, watched some DAYTIME TV. Not Soaps of course lol just some America's Next Top Model marathons. I'm glad to say I'm 24 hours ahead in my time. So where as I will still be out and caring for my Rvs I am able to somewhat take it a little easier in service the next couple of months.

My Boss informed me the other day that verbatim ... "We're in the market for another Jehovah's Witness." "Well" somewhat flattered I say "May I ask why?" "Well were sick of asking you to work full time and you never doing it, so we will settle for a second you, someone who has other obligations but who will be happy with just part time, hey why doesn't Alice move up here and work for us. Oh and by the way don't find us anyone who isn't skinny or pretty, we won't hire them" Well fabulous so now I am on my hunt to find a skinny hot perhaps pioneer sister who needs to as skin tough as nails, but also be very personable and good with older people, and quick witted and fast to handle how hectic the job can get. Hmm piece of CAKE! :) Well it finally dawned on the the other day after weeks of thinking of who.... My friend Brittany, Matt's girlfriend. So I'm going through my checklist... she's a very sweet girl, would be great with older people, and possible crazy people who only wanna talk about the bunnies and try to force popcicles on you. She's gorgeous, only wants to work part time. OK well now I am on a mission to convince her that THIS IS THE JOB FOR HER. Well we'll see how it goes... if anything might win her over I think it might be that they get you Starbucks almost every day. Come on Brittany... save me because I am the only person right now to cover people when they can't work and I am OVER WORKED!!!!!! :) We'll see how it goes. Anywho... I read Violette's post the other day on how nice it is to just hang out with the fam and it broke my heart because I miss everyone so much! Can you all move HERE..... PLEASEEEEEEEEE. I miss my mom so much. I can't wait to visit!!! Love you all.

Message from Coffee Shop.

I'm sitting here in Milwaukee Street Traders. A little coffee shop here in the heart of Downtown Delafield. Waiting for Lauren to meet up with me so that we can go out in service. I've been attempting to do some letter writing. But I've been so swept up in spending all my money on concert tickets. And listening to the new Stars album. Why is people watching so fascinating. Maybe because I just sit in my own little head and think that everyone functions as I do but when you people watch you realize what different strange creatures are out there. :)

It's definitely summer here right now. It's been so humid here that I feel like I'm in Florida.

Oh btw... the couple who were gonna have us over for dinner cancelled on us and so I didn't have to make that Tiramasu. But I still plan on it. I do believe I have conquered making the perfect Margarita. I attempted those last night... only to find that I only had like 4 ice cubes! (who did that!?!?) And so first I whined at Travis to please sneak into his Grandparents house to get me some ice... which he did...and then brought me back...and additional 4 ice cubes. Lol!! So I had to sneak and there and get some ice... I could hear her walking around upstairs... I tried to be as quiet as I could. But I stubbed my toe on some dumb wall. Got my ice and ran back home. And Made the best margarita I have ever had... especially since I had only had 1 before in my life. But it was delightful. I don't know if anyone else watches the Bachelorette (besides Alice) but I hope Roberto wins.

I had a couple of crummy weeks in service , I did my best it was just so unproductive. :( So I was keeping my head high knowing that at some point I was GOING to find my return visits again. And low and behold I found like 5 on Tuesday. It was so amazing. I love that feeling you get when you know that your return visits know your name and don't think you're a freak but just really look at you almost as a nice neighbor and really are in turn with what your talking about. And you feel like you can start imagining them as a fantastic Bible study. It's amazing how busy people are though... So it was a great day.

Alright well I'm gonna go try to buy this Stars CD from Itune. Adios!

It's amazing how fast one can go from being a total vegetable on the beach reading a book and eating cookies to back in the mode of life, Working, Service, Working, Service.

WHY OH WHY does February only have 28 days. I know there's probably a very fantastic reason which I just don't care enough to find out... but probably not the bext time to jet out for 12 days. The service time this month is suffering.

I wish I could say it was my artistic side starving needing to be fufilled that impulsed my return to blogging. But it was Julie and Julia.

Day 1: I am going to attempt to make Tiramasu. Travis and I were invited over to the house of a couple in our hall. I want to make a delicious dessert. I'll let you know what the feedback is.

Samson has this obsession with sneaking behind my computer and then with a swift attack he chews on the corner of the screen.

Ok well I shall go shower and go to bed now. Early morning service and then work in the afternoon tomorrow. Adios

Hello From Costa Rica Again!!!! Travis says Hi too.

Hello to all who read this....

It´s been a while I know. It was wonderful having the little sis come visit. Some things will never change. I love her dearly.

Well to give you a little update on the current Costa Rican vaca, Trav and I arrived safe.... exausted. We left the house 1:30 am and thanks to our dear friend Matthew we had a ride down to Chicago in the middle of a snow storm. Thanks Matt! We arrived with enough time to jog to the gate. Our flight went just fine and we arrived in Miami, by this time I hadn´t slept in what felt like forever and just felt ill. Next we arrive in San Jose. All went smoothly, our bag didn´t get lost. Had a little trouble with the car rental place but it´s to be expected. We were going to rent a car the whole time we were here but ended up just getting it for the week and we are going to return it at a little beach town. It would have been too expensive.

Then our adventure began, we decided last minute that we should just drive up to La Fortuna for the night, maybe hang out there the next day. Well the drive from San Jose to La Fortuna was going well... then a few wrong turns and we were a little lost.... Travis had a fabulous time adjusting to the Costa Rican driving. LOL. We let a little man hop in the back seat of our car so that he could show us where we made the wrong turn. How I miss this culture!!!!! So loving and self sacfricing for others. Nice little man. We were always being passed by people because we weren´t driving fast enough....PSH we were going around Mountains!!! Uphill and then downhill and there are montrous size potholes that could break your axil around every corner. Oh perhaps my personal favorite the paved road suddenly ends and it´s just rocks and grandes piedras... and just totally wrecked the road.... Travis ¨Where did the road go... what!! how does this happen!!!¨or when we turn the corner and there was landslide off a mountain that appeared as if it had been there for years. lol. La Fortuna was a lovely time, we ate at this amzing resturant, And of course I got the casado... typical costa rican meal.... you just can´t beat it. With amazing sangria! I just love the food in this country.

The next morning we went to the CATARATA!!! The beautiful waterfall just a few minutes away. It was amazing... you walk down 400 stone steps that are much steeper than normal steps...and then you can swim in the awesome pool... surrounding the waterfall... or course surrounded by large very slippery rocks.... I look over at Travis making fun and pretending to fall on the rocks.... pretending to fall on his head.... ok what a ham.... I get out the camera.... someone wants some pictures... then I see instantly this MASSSIVE lump on his head from 20 feet away clear as a bell.... he actually slipped and smashed his head on a rock... and felt this loud snap in his neck..... I felt so bad.... I shall upload pictures when I get back. That was quite the lump for sometime he had there. Then we go back check out of the hotel eat lunch and head out for Nicoya... quite a drive for sure. Then we go and look at some different hotels... we decided on hotel Yenny!! lol cheaper than some but still has AC. How glorious the AC is. It sure is hot here. And we were spoiled in La Fortuna where they don´t really have the dry season there and it´s up in the mountains so it´s much cooler.

Well I´m gonna go on a bible study right now but I shall write more....hasta luego

Ok so service has been nice this month. Lauren and I have it so perfectly planned out that we can even take a couple mornings off a week. It´s been a beautiful thing.

Oh well I´m gonna to relay a little experience... because Lauren already told the amazing FALLING IN THE MUD rainy service day.

So the other day we went to Lauren´s study. A cute little woman whose name will not be mentioned. But... yes it was interesting. This woman is a riot to say the least. So it started off well, and then she got a phone call... which probably wouldn´t have been as funny if it didn´t last for about 20 minutes!!! It was hilarious. Lauren and I are just sitting there twiddling our thumbs. So when she finally got off the phone it was a nice little study. There was a lovely little breeze and we were in comfortable rocking chairs. It was blissful. Untill she took out a pair of scissors and started cutting her fingernails with them. And while I´m reading the paragraph I feel them flying into my legs! It was disgusting! And they were sharp and pokey. But hey it was definitely an experience and she gave us cookies. It was great.

Hello Everyone,

I'm so sorry I've been failing miserably at updating this blog, honestly I didn't really know people actually read it. But now that I know that people actually do browse through it, I think I'll put a little more effort into updating it.

So I'm sure many people already know about our voyage home, and even though it had a few... road blocks we made it home safe and sound. But just in case people don't know about our little trip back I'll do a brief summary:

So we were scheduled to leave on Monday, which didn't work out as well as planned because there was a little something important, that lets us leave and return to the country, that was accidently left at the house, could happen to anyone. But it actually worked out because it was left in a laptop bag, with a computer in it, and it's slightly vital that Lauren has her computer. So in a way that worked out.
Anyways so off we go on Tuesday, so far so good, we get to the gate, passports and tickets in hand, get on the lovely plane which I should mention is full of... Sailors... or something associated with a bunch of guys with the Sailor outfits on, and yeah... there really is something to be said for the phrase "curses like Sailor" needless to say, that was a wonder flight.

So anyways we are sitting on the runway, waiting to take up... a little behind but no big deal, and then the pilot comes on the speaker, and here it come the great news that we all wanted to hear.... there are tornados in Atlanta and all the arriving flights into that airport had to be diverted to other states. Aw how wonderful, so now there was a huge back up of planes needing to arrive and depart. Well we think our layover was for a couple hours so we may just be able to make it in time, and no doubt out connecting flight is going to be delayed. So this will all be OK we think. Oh and then the waiting began, and then more waiting, and then we deplane and re-board and then a hour or so later, we are taking off. So the flight itself went smooth. So we get off the plane and rush to look at the Departing Flights screen... and... it was at that moment closed and leaving the gate... aw wonderful we just missed it. So off we go to get to a line for redirecting of flights. That was a lovely 4 hour line. Of inch by inch moving, and kicking the bags a little every 10 minute when we would make slight headway. Well thats alright they'll have to give us a hotel room and we can just get some sleep and head out tomorrow. Mm slight glitch, we had girls waiting at the airport for us, which was already the second day they had headed out there in the middle of the night to pick us up, seeing as how they didn't get the memo about the incident from the day before. Well we could only do what was in our power, and they didn't have a phone so there was just no way to reach them unfortunately. So we finally get to the front of the line, and we get on the next flight, 10:00 A.M. the following morning, and oh unfortunately due to the fact that the delays were caused by weather, they do not provide hotel room but they did give us a bag that had tooth paste and a white tee shirt in it. Fabulous. Well Lauren and I get over to out gate, and for a while I thought it would just be best to stay awake, I wasn't going to get a good nights rest anyways, so what was the point. Well that lasted until I thought my eyes were going to fall out of my head, so I curl up in a ball on the floor and try to fall asleep. Only problem is that we had given our coats to Lynn before we left Chicago and it was still might cold during the night in Atlanta, and we were freezing. I stretch the thin fabric of my little sweater to cover my face, and use my bag as a lumpy pillow full of books. And at about 5:00 I fell asleep. I was awoken by Lauren I believe a little before 7:00 and we zombie walk ourselves over to Starbucks hoping it will put a little life into me, and as it was unsuccessful, Lauren and I fall over on the bench and sleep for a good two hours. We get up and hobble over to the gate and sit and wait to board. I felt like death! My throat felt as though it was just closing up completely and I felt as so my body was put in a trash compactor. Ha-ha, it wasn't too good. Nonetheless there we were, getting on a plane, to head home. POR FIN! Finally! I slept through the entire flight, didn't eat the food didn't raise my head except once or twice. We arrive, and our bags were not lost. We get a taxi, it was a mini-van= me sleeping whole car ride to the bus station. We wait for our bus, it comes, we get on, I try to sleep but was unsuccessful, something about those buses that just don't allow me to sleep. Maybe its the head smashing repeatedly into the window, or just having your legs squished between your bags, I'm not sure, but it was a lovely 4.5 hour bus ride.

We get home, waste no time to grab our keys and head out to the internet cafe to call the families and tell them we are safe. Well we step outside and it starts to pour, I can't even tell you how uncharacteristic that is for the time of year. People swear by the fact that it never rains in March, and this was as though the night sky had opened up. So we grab our umbrellas and track through the puddles to the internet cafe, we arrived, sit down, and.... in that exact moment, darkness, complete darkness, yes there was a blackout in the entire city. So we sit and wait and wait, and then nothing, they kick us out. So we walk home in the complete darkness, get into the house search for a candle or two. I brush my teeth and go to bed. Yes that was interesting. I wake up the next day with a terrible flu. And was sick all week. So there is was a perfectly orchestrated series of unfortunate events, but hey we're here now. Even though I was too sick to go to the first day of the Circuit Assembly (which was very depressing, but what can you do) the second day of the Assembly was wonderful. Then that Tuesday it was time to get back into service mode, and yes I had my work cut out for me to make my time. But which a good schedule, ANYTHING is possible. So we planned out our month, and after two weeks we both have 53 hours, so I think we are gonna make it just fine. It's amazing what a person can just accomplish with Jehovah's help, and asking him for a little extra of his holy spirit to help you get back into the swing of things.... and not die of heat stroke. And here we are alive, now well adjusted to the heat. In fact I must say the heat really is bearable for me. ............. OK FAST FOWARD..... I wrote that part a couple of weeks ago...

Nicaragua!

OK so I don´t know if this is my view for all of Nicaragua but man did I fall in love with Granada as soon as we got off the bus.

But before I get ahead of myself. Wow is traveling from one country to the next via bus dificult. So Lauren and I got up at exactly 3:45 to walk to the bus station and catch our bus to Liberia (2 hours away)at 4:30. So when I finally peeled myself out of bed I felt like my lungs and my heart were just about to burst, it was just so unatural getting up that early... and lets keep in mind I was homeschooled. So I really was not mentally, physically, or emotionally prepared to wake up at that hour. And it didn´t really help that I was having trouble falling asleep that night and didn´t fall asleep untill at least 1/1:30. So needless to say in my book it was equal to chinese water torture without the water...or chinese people.

So after I heard Lauren hit snooze for the second or third time I jumped out of bed turned the light on... and all of a sudden I heard groaning... (Lauren)"whyyyy is my light on"..."its my light" I say. So then about 5 minutes of lying in agonizing (are we actually getting up at the hour)pain, I hopped out of mattress...(I could say bed, but who am I fooling)and stumbled downstairs growling in a completely disgruntled state. Shortly followed by Lauren.

I made us eggs and Lauren made us sandwiches. It was excellent team work. A few minutes and we were out the door. Ya wanna creepy Micheal Jackson Thriller setting. Walk around Nicoya Costa Rica at 4 in the morning.Its creepy let me tell ya. It was so creepy that I think the homeless man with his trashbag in front of us I think got a little spooked by us.

So alrighty we made it to the bus station in time. We get on the bus. IT WAS FREEZING.. ok I´m really not trying to complain but it was sooo cold. I had goosebumps for a good hour. Then it started to finally get a little light outside. Then and hour later we were in Liberia... next stop Nicaragua!

So after some interesting events we got on a bus TransNica was its name. And we took it to the border for immigration... And thats when things got TEDIOUS. We stood in the blazing hot sun for approx. 3 hours. Then we come to find that everyone in our bus had somehow managed to get through the line and back in the bus in 2 hours.. and proceeded to have to sit and wait for the last two weakest links.

So finally back on the bus... drive for 10 minutes. Next stop customs. That was interesting. Next Nicaragua. And I am trying desperately to write my talk but it was soo hard. I was just falling apart from lack of sleep and I could feel it but it was too bumpy to sleep. So then we arrive here GRANADA. NOTHING LIKE I EXPECTED! I love it here. Its so full of culture and life. And its just sooo cute!!! But i´m exausted so I´m going to bed now! More later! OH but I got my 90 hours I was going for in November!! YAY. It got me a few sunburns but it was worth it.

Hey Everybody!

Well I hope everyone in the states and other places are doing good. Things are going good in Nicoya. So service has been really good recently. We went to go do a bible study on Thursday who ended up not being home and so we ended up just trying to see if my bible study was home cause I couldn't get a hold of her the day before. And we ended up study for over an hour. I just lovec her so much!! She just really retains stuff so well. And you can tell everything just really goes into her heart. And so that was awesome. And then we went to go on another return visit and she didn't end up being home but her next door neighbor who happened to be a girl I started a study with but could NEVER get a hold of her, well she was home and we had our first study!! And at first it was kinda like I had to pry answers out of her, but then nearing the end of the study she was really getting into it. And it was great and she even wanted to set up a specific time for me to come back! YAY!

And then Saturday night I was suppose to have my first study with a woman who worked in the Centro de Nicoya. And it took us forever to find her house in the dark, we had to ask so many neighbors and eventually a little girl just walked us to it. Well turns out she couldn't study right then but I came back Sunday after noon... turned out the time we set up again didn't work out well, so i went back later on Sunday by myself and she was home and we studied and it was so great! It was just like it talked about in the Special Assembly Day, just how important it is to be pacient with our return visits and bible studies. And this woman is soo smart and just everything she read.. she instantly finds the answer and she really keeps me on my toes. So as far as service is going I could ask for more blessings. I have already recieved so many!!

Ok Well Now I'm actually gonna try to keep up with thing. So everything has been pretty crazy. However crazy great!

Service is really coming around. I mean everything is just starting to feel more natural. It's a crazy feeling to feel secure talking at the doors again. And feeling like I really know what I am doing, because for a while I was very dependent on the sister that I would be working because I was fine untill the householder actually said something and then I was in trouble. But anyways so Lauren and I were on our way home from doing return visits and studies.. and I decided to stop by this womans house that I talked to her one time and could NEVER find her in the house, there was always someone there who said she was in the hospital.. she was always in the hospital... and so I was wondering if I should just give up on that. So we stopped in there and she woman was there and she was sooo nice and I started a study with her in the Bible Teach Book and she was sooo incredibly nice, and very receptive. And actually seems quite eager to learn the answers to the questions I showed her. We are gonna study on Tuesday so that's exciting. So we'll see how that goes. Oh so I had another part on the Service Meeting the other day. I did another magazine presentation. It actually went pretty good, but I was super nervious. I was asked to do it just the day before and forgot to really memorize it so at the meeting I tried to practice it before and it was horrible... and awkward... so I rewrote it in my own words and it actually went pretty good... but my hands were shaking so bad! lol but it was fun!

Ok well things are good.... so yesteday in servicio!!! I met.. I knew they lived here somewhere in Costa Rica... THE NAKED FAMILY.. and I sure did find em. So we go to this house and instead of running away which is what I wanted to do... sorry people its just my natural reaction.... so they were interested and wanted to talk. Ok so first child comes out COMPLETELY naked... running and skipping like the happy full of life child he is... next comes nudist child #2 oh yay this ones older... and oh look now they are wrestling... is it bad to laugh and then want to cry when reading Pslams 37:10,11... OK so now whats happening.... now the very happy tired boys one probably 3 and the other more or less 7, or 8.. come to the door and they wanna see who this person talking to their BARELY dressed (initiator of the naked frenzy) mom... it was pretty priceless....

OK so tomorrow is the Hall Cleaning. I hope my disgustingly dirty tennis shoes are dry from when I srubbed them for 2 days straight after soccer. oh eh hem FUTEball

Ok so lets see... where did I leave off..

So I had a meeting part. And it actually went well. I was nervous and shaking and when they called us up.. I was seriously contemplating running out the open door a the kingdom hall. But we went up there and it was actually pretty good. Lauren did excellent as well. She was very well composed.

OK so what else is new... So this week in Service was fun. Friday we went to Territorio Largo with the Montel and it was nice. Then we went to this sisters house where we ate our lunch. And this hilarious couple bought us instant coffee cause they know we like our cafe negro and their coffee they had was sweeeted. It was really nice.

Then Saturday we had way way out territory. We took the bus. It was fun. But I was kinda hilarious cause Lauren and I get in the bus and sit down and then we were like... wait a minute.. is this 50 CENT... hahaha... yes!!! very appropriate. "In Da Club"

So service was really fun. I was working with this hilarious sister.

So we get to this one door and when the man came out I almost ran away cause he had this contraption on his neck. And when he started speaking he sounded like c3Po... that robot from Star Wars... and I was about to be like well maybe we should come back at a better time. But I guess he was like... no puedo hablar pero puedo escuchar.. I can't speak but I can listen... I mean you can't say no to that. So I talked to him about the "making all things new" brochure and read him some scriptures and he was really nice.. but everytime he would speak I wanted to run away.. it was seriously terrifying.

Ok so Yesterday... Martes...Tuesday.. We went out in service... Obviously... and I STARTED my first bible study. it was very exciting. I was talking to this girl who was maybe in her mid twenties how was pregnant about why god permits suffering in the world.And she was like I wish I knew more about God and how he wants us to live because I want to be able to teach my baby how to live in the right way. But I need someone to teach me. Cause I just don't know how... I was like.... ME! PICK ME! But no it was really great. I'm gonna go back next Friday and start the bible teach book and then Sunday I'm gonna walk by her house and we're gonna walk to the meeting together. I can't wait!!!

OK well I'm gonna try calling some people. I love and miss you all!!!

HEY EVERYBODY!!!!

OK i have good news and bad news! Bad first? Ok if you insist... we cant get internet in our apartment... or a phone... yay!!

Good news.... WE HAVE AN APARTMENT!!!!!!

Its adorable. Its small and perfect. Its five minutes walking distance from the kingdom hall... and 10 minutes from the Centro de Nicoya.. which is where are these lovely internet ... kill my budget... cafes are.

Its a two story apartment.. With no bedrooms!! hahaha!!! it has a loft as the upstairs.. its open but who cares. and were deviding it down the middle with the dresser or curtain or something.. lol it has an adorable little circular stairway and beautiful tile and wood flooring. The kitchen is adorable and it has a little outside area to wash our clothes... thats right Jereme.. we´re roughing it big time.. no washing machine and DEFINITElY no dryer. lol ... it wasnt a furished a apartment but it did come with a nice refridgerator and a dresser thing... it has a closet in the bathroom ... which a nice tub... now shower... interesting considering a DONT TAKE BATHS... lol o well. We are gonna buy a couch and a little eating table and a little closet for lauren since i have the one thats currently there.and o maybe a fan or two... but there are already two on the ceiling but hey!!! this is sauna town... but honestly im super happy with it. its definitely not anywhere near big but its perfect. Absolutely perfect. And hey it has a security system, i dont even have that in florida!! Today we walked from Hermana Florys house to our apartment... it took us like 15 minutes but our bags were so heavy it felt like a month long journey through the hot desert which chickens and dogs running through the roads.

Last night we bought mattresses... but folks no beds just a matress on the floor and i like it.

Oh btw family... I forgot some really important things if they could be shipped or violette if you could bring them ... my camera charger and I REALLY want it... i think it might be plugged into my surge protector by my OLD bed... lol

Next step today is cleaning supplies and groceries...whoo hoo.

Wow guys I have to tell you our congregation!!!! Its rocks my world. because they are the kindest people in the world. And so jealous in their service. So I got my first sunburn... note to self when out in service for 5 hours in the blazing hot sun RE=APPLY sunblock and be smart when you see 75% of the people out in service using umbrellas to block the sun and they are like 25 shades darker than you in the tan skin department... dont brave it white girl. so yesterday i bought my sombrilla.. its purple .. and i love it. I cant wait to go out in service with my beautiful sombrilla.

Ok well we have a big day of cleaning and unpacking! YAHOO!

I miss you all and I will be able to recieve calls from the apartment owners house but i cant place them...so i will get that number and let any of you know... those who love can call... but it should be at a known time a head of time.. more on that later...

Hey Everyone. I am here, In Costa Rica. My new home. Ok so Im gonna kinda summerize this past week. Its been crazy to say the least.}

So Wednesday.. I got 40 minutes of sleep. And then woo hoo... grumpy Avril drags herself out of bed already 40 minutes behind scheduele. And sorry mom if I was kinda grumpy I was just afraid I was gonna miss my flight.

So I stop by Barnies.. copy my passport.. Get a large Soy¨Pumpkin Spice Latte.. courtesy of Sophie... It was amazing... by the way. And then off to the airport we go. Everything went fine there... but I cant even explain how hard that was being in the airport going to security watching my mom. I couldnt hold back tears. Its true you really dont know what you got till its gone. I MISS YOU MOM!! AND I LOVE YOU.}

So then off to Miami I go... I meet Lauren there.. she looked dead tired... she didn{t get very much sleep either.

Then we get on our plane.. I watch the first few episodes of One Tree Hill season three... courtesy of Ben Calhoun... thanks again Ben. Anyways so we arrive in San Jose it was insane I look out the windows and see mountains! MOUNTAINS. Then we go out of our plane... and head to immigration!!!! TORTURE!!!!! the longest line ever! I hate immigration.

So then we get through there and find out suitcase. The handle of one of mine broke and the other had a torn corner. Oh well... then we head through customs and BAM! were outside the airport and there are all these costa ricans shouting aqui senoritas ven conmigo.. no lie i wasnt really prepared for that and we had no where to go... and we had tons of stuff with us. So then lauren goes ok you watch the stuff and ill go look around the corner... lol that was a scary 2 minutes. lol and then there she comes with the brother. Yay. It was a sigh of relief.

Then we drive to La Casa de Hermana Veliza Rivera! The most hilarious little Costa Rican lady who couldnt be taller than 4 11 and had 5 dogs. Perritos. She didnt speak a word of english but I think that was good because here in Nicoya not a soul speaks a word of English.. so it prepared us for it a little. We stayed with that sister for one night. She cooked us Pollo and Frijoles and Arroz, and the best freca!! or juice de oranges and lemons all fresh! DELICIOUS! Oh and I have a new found love of beans and rice.

Then we took a taxi to the meeting in San Jose.. and the people there were very nice and welcoming. More practice for our Spanish, but there were a few teenagers there that were taking classes to learn english. Which was kinda cool. They tried to speak to us in English.

So the next day this couple picked us up and took us to the bus station. Where we sat and waited. Then we got on the bus lol and that was a nice 4 and a half hours. But it was also terrifying because we would be driving centemeters from the edge of the clif. But it was exciting and the scenery was beautiful. Ok well I will tell you all more about our trip later. Because now is where it really starts. Nicoya. OK well I love you all and will post sometime in the next few days to tell you all about service here. Its wonderful.

Ok MUCH LOVE!!! Oh and for those coming to visit. I think it would be best to Fly into Liberia. Its much more expensive, but San Jose was not the easiest place to get around. So just check prices and let me know! Much Love Avril

So Sophie and I have been practicing our dance quite a bit recently. Well not really practicing it but more of like finishing it so that we can practice it. We officially finished it last night. And its hard for me to remember it all cause we didn't have enoiugh time to practice it. But I hope it will turn out good.
Hopefully someone will tape the event. Maybe I'll ask my mom to. That way I can show it to people who weren't able to come.

Let me tell ya something it's pretty fun trying to type with two fingers taped together on a splint. Lol. I jammed my pinky into its socket playing get this... KICKBALL. What a idiotic way to hurt yourself.

Anyways two of my bestest friends in the whole wide world went to Mexico recently... nad by the way guys your pictures are awesome! But seeing them made me miss you all sooo much!! Andrew looks more like the Jolly Green Giant every picture I see...(I mean that in a postive way I promise) And Libby and Lauren... you guys look gorgous in those pictures. All sun-kissed... and surrounded with monkeys!!! How could it possibly get any better.

Looking at those pictures made me start to think of where I want to live in the paradise. I mean that would be awesome to live in a place like that. Have some pet monkey, go out to the ocean, take a ride on my pet Baluga Whale named Blubber. Now that sounds pretty awesome.

Oh by the way in case anyone was wondering I drink coffee again. And I like it. I normally drink decaf though. Hmm German Chocolate Cake Mocha... Libby if you were here I would make you one really special and its delish!

Hmm I was contemplating for a second what I was gonna wear in our dance tonight... Sophies going for the 'I'm a dancer and yea I know I fit into those tights and theres nothing you can do about it!' "look". Me, I decided if I'm gonna be doing a front walkover in a dance I would like to be wearing something that doesn't flop over. So I shall being wearing sweatpants! Yay. I guess there was a pretty good turn out likw 12 or some dances and i'm sure some more got added. Alice shall be doing a surprise dance. We'll see if we can get pictures! I'll give you a clue.. she'll be fluffy.

Well hopefully I'll have some pictures taken and post them or other people will and I'll steal them off their blogs and put them on mine. Ok well till tonight wish me a "decent" job on our dance.

So today I woke up at 12. That was nice. Its such a glorious thing to wake up late every once in a while. When to Barnies studied... went and got chinese take out... ate... did more school work. I think I might go to the gym tonight I really have been lacking in my gym membership. Oh by the way... the weather here is officially in the amazing catagory!!! Its cool and brezy but sunny and clear. Its shorts and a swearter weather. Thats my favorite. Right now I love Florida.. Well Sophie and I are doing a dance together for Sarah Jo's party but so far we have made up what maybe a third of it and we've practiced what we have like twice.. Wow we're making progress. Its about a month away. But we haven't practiced in like 2 weeks. So maybe we'll do that tomorrow. So far I think it looks pretty good. I mean the song fits.. though I wish it could be to something more lively.. But I think it will turn out nice...

Moi caliente--- lol I don't know what that means... I found out in order to get this scolarship I need I have to have taken a ton of courses that I did take... so I'll be working my butt off doing that... hey guess who was planning on waiting till college to learn a second language and has two thumbs?? This girl!

Yup so I shall be gettting Spanish one and two under my belt hopefully in the next couple of months... Yes it is incredibly stressful... but I just hate getting stressed out over school. I mean it just feels so pointless... but for now I am, o well.. Well I'm on my 7th cup of iced tea for today. 4 cups of cranberry tea and 2 tuscan garden and now my green tea with brown rice.... yummy... goes well with general tso' chicken and veggie lo mein. Well till my next exciting day of events... oh by the way my day is not normally this carefree, that's why Monday's are my favorite day of the week.

.... so you'll be seeing me drink lots and lots of tea. Lots of tea. I had 4 cups of green tea with brown rice today! Yum my favorite. Well we ran out of that... thanks to yours truely and then I started in on the Canberry Hibicus. I love Iced Tea thats healthy for you. Oh and I vowed to only eat one pastry a day. NO MORE! And I am going to bring at least one healthy snack with me to work everyday!!

Well I love my gym! I love it!

I mean I haven't really seen the fastest of result. And there are certain part that just take longer to tone. But who cares...

So MY OFFICIAL GYM GOAL IS: TO be able to beat Alice in a pullup challenge!! Thats right I must train long and I must train hard but having that sweet sucess will be worth all the pain and sweat anyone can imagine!!! Thats right that is the best kinda of satisfaction. Knowing that finally you are better at something psyically demanding that the sister that is 3 years younger than you. And has like a negative 18% body fat.

Then I ring her up... and she says wait why is it so much... I had to charge for the whip cream on that... it doesn't normally come with it.... Wait they don't charge me at starbucks!!

Well at Starbucks they don't use store bought they make their own.... we can't afford not to charge... sorry mam.

A Short But Heartfelt Farewell.

I don't know if everyone knows this but I used to hate this girl. I know what a great way to start out this post. But thats what really showed me how much people change and I'm not perticularly talking about her. I'm talking about myself as well. She was always the "cool" kid. She always had high heels on and big girl clothes. Where as I wished I could wear high heels but my feet simply weren't big enough to fit into them. I remember the day my feet finally became a 5. And I could wear the coveted high heels. It was like my life finally had meaning... yes incredibly vain but I was little.

The reason I am writing this is because I unexpectedly became such close friends with someone that 6 years ago I thought was too "cool" to hang out with me. And I'll tell ya. You can't find a friend better than her. No matter what happens she's always kinda there. Even if she isn't "there" you know that she'll always be willing to listen. No matter how dumb and childish the problem is. Trust me I've had my fair share of times when I complain about the most annoying things. But still she sticks around.

And even though she leaving us I know that she'll always be my friend. And anyone else she is friends with. And as we on with our daily lives whether I may live 8 minutes or 8 hours away from her we can continue to be sure that she will always be there for those she cares about. So P.S (stay on her good side) no I'm kidding.

All the memories with her. As dumb as they sound... really are special to me. What really are friends without all the memories... I remember watching Gone in 60 Seconds and we freaked out cause the answering machine started talking. I remember falling off her bed and nearly falling through the ceiling because I was laughing so hard. Or just the memories of being so hyper so late at night. And where as these sound so juvenile and not that special they really are important to me.
And I hope that in a few years when we look back at them they will still be funny just like all the dumb blond jokes this girl has been forced to listen to.

The reason I am writing this is because I just wanted this girl to know how important she is to me. And I wouldn't trade the past couple years for anything. And I am gonna miss her more than anything. And if it was my way she wouldn't be leaving. But it doesn't matter. And dispite what I told her I want her to be happy there. And I'm sure all the people will fall in love with you as soon as they meeting you. You have one of those personalities that is like a magnent to people. Well super duper awesome people. I mean hellllo I'm your friend! JUST KIDDNG.

Why is this girl such a great friend. Because she has so many qualities we try to cultivate in ourselves. And I admire her for each and every one of those. And I just want her to know that I am going to miss her so much! She's irreplaceable and one of those people that you don't realize how much theys really touched your life untill they leave.

Not that we arn't ever gonna see her. She's lucky if she THINKs she can get rid of me.
